Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families!
Do you hear what I hear? You will soon. I've been listening to the students practicing for the concert tomorrow night and it promises to prepare your heart for the coming of Christ. After you have enjoyed the voices of our angels, be sure to stop by the FLC for some Country Christmas fun.
As we are counting down the days until Christmas break, please remember that next Friday, Dec. 20, is a half day and there will be no after care available for the students. Everyone must be picked up at noon. This allows all members of our school and parish to enjoy time together to celebrate the season.

St. Stephen Catholic School Christmas Concert
The Word
Please join us next Friday for our annual Christmas Concert. Students in grades K-8 will arrive at 6 pm and sit with their class. PK students will also arrive at 6 pm and sit with their parents until it is time for them to perform. All students will wear their Christmas best. Students performing in the Living Nativity will be provided with costumes.

Spring Ice Cream Fridays
I scream, you scream, Ice Cream Fridays!!! If you have not filled out the form that was sent by email then please use the link below if you wish for your student(s) to participate in Spring Ice Cream Fridays. Please sign up on the link no later than Tuesday, January 7, 2025. There will be NO additions to the ice cream list after that date except for new students. The cost is $38 for the semester which will be billed through your FACTS account.
Note: For early dismissal Fridays or when there is no school, ice cream is given on Thursday.
Sacristan Participation
We invite more of our school families to participate as Sacristans in the weekend masses. Sacristans prepare the sanctuary for the celebration of the Mass. This includes preparing the wine, water, and bread, cleaning the sacred vessels and linens used during Mass, and ensuring everything is set back in its place in the sacristy before leaving the church. When participating as a family, younger children are allowed to assist. If your family is interested in participating, please contact Mary Gurley at mgurley@sscsfl.org to schedule your training.
We Need You!!!
If you have a career that you love and would like to share your talents with our students, we would appreciate your time on Vocations Day. This will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm during Catholic Schools Week.
This will help inspire our students to learn more about career options to set goals for their future.

Angels Among Us invites you to Celebrate their 25th Gala Fundraiser. Helpful info can be found in Frequently Asked Questions ( see link below). The Gala is a great way to make new friends, and enjoy a fun night out while supporting our school.
Angels 25th Gala
Need Babysitting for Angels?
Many parents have asked Angels to help with watching their children while they attend the Gala on 2/15. We recently began offering the service with a nominal charge and it was very well received. We are happy to announce sitting will be available again this year. It will be available to all SSCS students while parents attend the Gala. The children will be watched in our school building.
The nominal charge of $25 for the first child and $10 for each additional child is to compensate the school employees who have agreed to attend to the children. The child can be brought to the school office between 5:15 pm and 5:45 pm. Registration and the fun begins at 5:30 pm. Please feel free to bring water, snacks, a pillow, blanket etc.

Please come and enjoy the dinner, open bar, auction opportunities, music and dancing knowing your child is close by.
Mustang Sports
MUSTANG SPORTS:
Girls Basketball: The Mustangs beat Foundation Christian, 16-7, to improve their record to 3 wins and no losses. They were led in scoring by Sofia S., Christina F., and Lillian Mc. with 4 points each. The Mustangs are back on the court next week with two away games. They play on Monday against St. Lawrence at St. Lawrence, and on Tuesday against Christ the King at Christ the King. Both games start at 4:00 pm.
Boys Track: The boys track season wraps up this week with their last two events. The second field event meet is today at Christ the King, from 4:00-5:30 pm. Boys will participate in the long jump, high jump, discus, and varsity shot put. The final running and relay meet is Saturday at Jesuit High School, from 1:30-5:00 pm. The results will be posted in next week's Mustang Sports. Good luck to all of our Mustangs.
Girls varsity flag football and boys JV and varsity basketball are the next school sports. More info about tryouts and season info coming next week.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years. Attached here are the instructions on how to get your safe environment certificate and to have your fingerprints done.
