Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families!
The season of Advent is a time of preparation. We prepare for the coming of Christ and the hope and joy that a new year will bring. This Christmas also marks the start of the Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church and the theme is Pilgrims of Hope. This theme was chosen to promote peacebuilding throughout the world. 2025 also marks the start of the new five-year Pastoral Plan, A Call to Conversion. As we travel through 2025 as pilgrims of hope, I will share details of how the school is participating in this call to action.
After much discussion with the Diocese and the Parish, this is our plan for hurricane make-up days. We missed a number of days of school between the two hurricanes and we owe it to the students to recapture some of the missed time to ensure we have covered all the necessary standards this year. Therefore, this is how we will make up some of the time:
- February 28, March 28, and May 28, originally scheduled as half-days, will now be full days of school.
- The last day of school will be Thursday May 29 and it will be a half-day of school.
The last day of school for PK and the date for 8th grade graduation will remain the same.
Please see the information below regarding the Christmas Concert which is next Friday, Dec. 13. This year's performance will instill the true joy of Christmas in your hearts.
Remind your children to wear their uniforms to Mass this weekend to grab their Holy Family holy card and earn free dress on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend.

The Word
Please join us next Friday for our annual Christmas Concert. Students in grades K-8 will arrive at 6 pm and sit with their class. PK students will also arrive at 6 pm and sit with their parents until it is time for them to perform. All students will wear their Christmas best. Students performing in the Living Nativity will be provided with costumes.

FACTS has updated its Privacy Policy and COPPA Direct Notice, which describes how it protects the privacy of our families and handles their data in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
This communication will be distributed to users via a pop-up message when logging into FACTS SIS and will contain an FAQ to help answer potential questions. Angels 25th Gala
Need Babysitting for Angels?
Many parents have asked Angels to help with watching their children while they attend the Gala on 2/15. We recently began offering the service with a nominal charge and it was very well received. We are happy to announce sitting will be available again this year. It will be available to all SSCS students while parents attend the Gala. The children will be watched in our school building.
The nominal charge of $25 for the first child and $10 for each additional child is to compensate the school employees who have agreed to attend to the children. The child can be brought to the school office between 5:15 pm and 5:45 pm. Registration and the fun begins at 5:30 pm. Please feel free to bring water, snacks, a pillow, blanket etc.

Please come and enjoy the dinner, open bar, auction opportunities, music and dancing knowing your child is close by.
Packing Material Collection for Gala Baskets
As we head into the holiday season and packages start arriving, we ask for your help collecting packing materials for our Gala baskets! Items like bubble wrap, styrofoam, other fillers, and ribbons are invaluable for arranging our baskets. Please save these materials as you unpack and bring them to the school in the new year. Your contributions make a big difference in creating beautiful baskets for our Gala.
Mustang Sports
MUSTANG SPORTS:
Girls Basketball: The girls varsity basketball team won their opening game of the season, beating local rival, Nativity, 21-11. The Mustangs were led in scoring by Lillian Mc. with 6 points and Isabella V. with 4 points. The Mustangs beat Mother Teresa, 23-17, and they were led in scoring by Lillian Mc. with 10 points, and Christina F. with 7 points. The Mustangs are back on the court on Monday against Foundation Christian at Foundation Christian at 5:30 pm.
Boys Track: The boys have a week and half of practice before the last events of the season next week. The second field event meet is next Thursday, December 12, at Christ the King from 4:00-5:30 pm, and the second running and relay meet is next Saturday, December 14, at Jesuit High, from 1:30-5:00 pm.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years. Attached here are the instructions on how to get your safe environment certificate and to have your fingerprints done.
