Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families!
As we get ready for a three-day Labor Day weekend, we reflect on the contributions of workers across the country who have built and continue to build the foundation of our communities. It's also a great opportunity to teach our children about the value of hard work, perseverance, and dedication. At St. Stephen, we are committed to fostering these values in our students. Whether they are tackling new subjects, engaging in creative projects, or developing friendships, we want them to understand that their efforts today will shape the leaders they will become tomorrow.
If you missed the presentation by Mrs. Neal at the start of Back-to-School night, you can view the presentation here. Even if you did see it, you may want to revisit it throughout the year. There is valuable information for all parents in this presentation. We are planning another parent presentation on September 17 at 6 pm during the PTCO General Meeting in the FLC. Please save the date and join us for a presentation by More2Life and learn more about Cyber Safety for our children.
Let's continue to support our children in their journey of learning and growing. Together, we can help them build the skills and values they need to succeed, both in school and in life. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school community and enjoy your weekend.

Join us and share with your local friends that Little Greek Fresh Kitchen, located at 10173 Big Bend Road Riverview, 33578, is hosting our first spirit night of the year. Mention "St. Stephen" when you place your order any time on Thursday, August 29th. Little Greek will be giving back a portion of their sales to our school PTCO.
Thanks From Angels Among Us
Sincere thanks to our Kindergarten parents, Elizabeth and Rian, for their generous support of Angels Among Us. Elizabeth shared her talents and offered a "Flower Arrangement Class" donation for our Angels 2024 LIve Auction. The workshop experience included making beautiful arrangements and sharing a fun time with friends while enjoying a glass or two of wine accompanied by some good food.
Angels appreciation extends to our gala guests who were the highest bidders: the Davisons, the Kenkels and the Ellises. Angels 2024 was a huge success and our fundraising goal was met because of the kindness of school parents, parishioners and friends of the community. Each and every year, Angels is grateful for the support of so many who come together to express their commitment to a faith filled Catholic Education.
Mark your calendar to attend the Angels Gala on 2/15/25, a "Celebration of 25 years Supporting SSCS." Enjoy dinner and dancing and the opportunity to participate in exciting Silent and LIVE Auctions as well as bidding on baskets and class crafts. Seat reservations will be available in December and donations and sponsorships accepted year round. Please contact Nicki or Vylam in the school office with any questions regarding the 2025 Gala.
Spirit Wear Shop Opens
The link below will take you to the SSCS Spirit Wear Store.
The store will be open 8/5 at 8AM through 9/8 at Midnight. All proceeds will help the PTCO fund activities for the students during the school year. The Spirit Wear purchased through this link is for weekend wear and only allowed to be worn in school on specific school days. The clothing purchased through this link is not part of our school uniform but can be worn to school on days considered Free Dress Pass Days and Jean Days. The weekly school newsletter sent out on Thursday and the school calendar will note when there is a Jean Day or a Free Dress Pass Day. The school handbook also provides info regarding uniforms and Spirit Wear. Delivery will be approximately one month after the close of the store. Angels Among Us Requests Student Artwork
In Celebration of 25 years Supporting SSCS, Angels Among Us is offering students the opportunity to use their creativity and skills to recreate the Angels Among Us Wings. A print of the Wings is provided to use for your design. The design should closely resemble the wings provided and be recreated using a material of your choice. Suggestions include wood, ceramic, canvas, pottery, paper mâché, cardboard, foam, plastic, and fabric. Feel free to use paint, feathers, lights or other embellishments. The presentation can be 3 or 4 dimensional, a carving, a sculpture, a painting or wherever your imagination takes you. Be as creative as you like. The size should be no more than 3 feet by 3 feet and no heavier than 4 pounds.
All entries will be part of the Angels Gala on 2/15 and will not be returned to the student. Artwork is to be delivered to the school office on or before Monday, November 11. Our principal will select the most creative and best executed work of art and the winning artist’s parents will receive two complimentary tickets to Angels.
Mustang Sports
MUSTANG SPORTS:
The St. Stephen coed soccer and girls volleyball teams have a couple of weeks of practice before the games and matches start.
The volleyball teams have their first match on Tuesday, September 10, vs Mother Teresa here at St. Stephen in the FLC. The varsity match starts at 4:15 pm and the JV at 5:15 pm.
The soccer team has its first game on Thursday, September 12, vs St. Joseph at St. Stephen at 4:15 pm.

All student-athletes must have the two Diocesan required sports forms completed in full the FHSAA sports physical (new updated version) & Diocesan consent form, and the $75 sports fee turned in to the office or Coach Green to be eligible to participate in the matches/games. The $75 sports fee is per sport. The sports forms are available on the school website under Athletics and Forms.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years. Attached here are the instructions on how to get your safe environment certificate and to have your fingerprints done.
