Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families!
We have come to the end of another amazing school year. Thank you to everyone who played a role in its success. A special thanks to the Men's Club and Knights for once again supporting our end-of-year bash tomorrow beginning at 11:30 am on Friday.
When it is time for back-to-school shopping, please keep the following in mind:
- High-top shoes/sneakers are not allowed
- Socks must be seen, no-show socks are not allowed and they may not have logos
- Shoes must be all black. Soles may be white, but logos must be black
- All water containers must have a sealed cover and may only contain water. Bottles with straws are not allowed.
- For hairstyles, no mohawks, faux hawks, or mullets; no shavings, line art, or hair designs; no braids in boys' hair; and no hair dye.
- PK students are encouraged to wear velcro shoes
This will be our final Tidbits for this school year and we will resume on August 8, the Thursday before school begins. Please check our website for information regarding summer work for new families and school supplies. Students will receive their yearbooks and standardized test results either today or tomorrow. If outstanding fees or tuition are due, your child will not receive his yearbook and test results. Once all outstanding bills are paid, these may be picked up in the school office over the summer. Our summer hours begin on Monday, June 3 with the office open Mon-Thurs from 8 am to 12 pm.

Talent Show May 23rd
The SSCS Talent Show will be held on Thursday, May 23rd in the FLC at 1:00 pm. Parents of students participating in the talent show are invited to attend the show. Students that auditioned should attend rehearsal on Tuesday, May 21st in the music room with Mrs. Stanley. Parents do not attend the rehearsal. Pick up after the rehearsal will be at the Angels Wing Gate at 4:30 pm. Any remaining students will be taken to Extended Day. Please email Mrs. Stanley if you have any questions. hstanley@sscsfl.org We are looking forward to watching our talented Mustangs perform!

Now OPEN Renewal and New Application Scholarships: Families should have received emails to renew their scholarships! New Applications are open too!
Once you have renewed or filled out the new application your student will be awarded an AWARD ID NUMBER. This may take up to two weeks.
REMEMBER TO EMAIL the AWARD ID NUMBER
to gleung@sscsfl.org. This Award ID Number needs to be given to me before June 15th, 2024.
To find the student's Award ID, the parent/guardian should log into their EMA account and follow the below steps. Please click here to watch a video about locating Award IDs or view the screenshots below.

Students Completed Their Elective "Newsletter"
Several 6,7 and 8 grade students learned about the history and workings of a newspaper in their Spring Elective.They also contributed to "A Mustang Publication" with personal stories, student interviews and summer puzzles. The students are excited to share their publication with school families. Reading "Summer Madness" will make you anxious to travel, go to the beach and enjoy the lazy hazy days of summer.

MUSTANG SPORTS:
Thank you to all of the student-athletes, coaches, and family members who attended the St. Stephen Sports Awards Night last night in the FLC. It was a great evening celebrating all of the student-athletes and their accomplishments for the 2023-24 sports year. Thank you to all of our parent volunteer coaches for their commitment and dedication coaching the school sports teams this year.
The St. Stephen Sports Summer Camp Flyers and registration links are in Tidbits. Soccer camp for grades 5-8 is June 17-21 and for grades 1-4 is July 22-26. The deadline for the 5th-8th grade soccer camp is just over a week away on Friday, May 24, and there have been limited registrants. Registrations will be accepted after May 24th, but the proper camp shirt size can't be assured. Basketball camp is July 15-19 and volleyball camp is July 22-26. The deadline to register for the sports camps in July is Friday, June 21, to assure the proper camp shirt size.

Summer Reading Skills Program
The University of South Florida Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education will be offering a series of summer reading skills programs taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. The programs start for 4-year-olds entering Kindergarten and go up to students entering the 10th grade. Families can choose between classes offered in Brandon at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church or on campus at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years.
