Hello St. Stephen Families!
I have an update on the road repairs. The engineer believes there is a broken drain pipe. We are currently working on finding a company to do the repairs which may include digging up the road. If this happens, we will need to come up with an alternative plan for drop-off and pick-up. I will continue to share the details as soon as I have more information.
In just a few weeks, we will be having our Fall Book Fair. This year, we will be using Good News! Book Fair which will provide a balance of fiction, non-fiction, and faith-filled books. All books are reviewed to ensure they align with our Catholic faith and values. Continue to read Tidbits for details of the events during Book Fair week Sept. 25-29.
As you are aware, tuition does not cover all our costs to educate your children. To supplement our revenue, we depend on fundraising, donations, our Gala, etc. Our two PTCO fundraising events are the Walkathon in November and the raffle in the Spring. PTCO is currently seeking one or two volunteers to head the committee for the November Walkathon. Please consider taking on this event and know that you will have the support of the PTCO Board to help and support you. Own The Avenue is a year-round fundraiser for the PTCO and gives you a great way to give your child a shout out for the school community to see! Birthdays, achievements, any positive vibes and kudos are welcome, and they certainly make your student feel special!!
The sign is located on the corner of our school parking lot and will be viewed and celebrated for the entire week. A PTCO member will be responsible for putting up the sign and after the week is done, the sign will be sent home with your student for yours to keep or to reuse for a future week!
In a nutshell here’s how it works:
If you have an existing sign, the cost is $30 for the week. If we need to order a new sign, the cost is $50 for the week. Please make payments through the school’s front office. To sign up, please use the following link and more details will follow. Please note, new signs take up to 2 weeks to process and receive from our vendor. IMPORTANT: Please note, this is a yearly fundraiser that is on a first come, first served basis (via SignUpGenius). For example, if you purchase a sign this year for a specific week 9-17-23 thru 9-23-23, that same week is not guaranteed to you for future years. It is required that you sign up each school year if you
wish to participate.

MUSTANG SPORTS:
Girls Volleyball: The varsity and JV volleyball teams both lost to local rival Nativity, two games to one, in the first match of the season. The Mustangs are back on the court Tuesday against Mother Teresa at Mother Teresa at 4:15 pm and 5:15 pm and Thursday against Villa Madonna at St. Stephen at 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm.
Coed Soccer: The soccer team one last practice before the first game of the season Tuesday against Mother Teresa at Mother Teresa at 4:15 pm. The Mustangs also host Villa Madonna on Thursday here at St. Stephen at 4:00 pm.

Gala and Fundraiser
"Welcome to the Jungle" February 10
Angels Among Us is now accepting donations that can be used in our Silent and Live Auctions for the Gala on February 10th at the FLC, Welcome to the Jungle. If you have any collectibles, sports memorabilia or new and unused items that you would like to donate, please drop them off at the school office. Wine donations are also appreciated. We are happy to accept both red and white wine donations which will count toward your volunteer hours. Wine valued at $40 will give you credit for one volunteer hour. Receipt for wine purchase required. Drop off all donations at the front office with your name. Sponsorships are available anytime by contacting ngallagher@sscsfl.org and seat reservations will be available in December.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years. Attached here are the instructions on how to get your safe environment certificate and to have your fingerprints done.
