Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,
Today the students clapped for our 8th graders as they made their final walk through the halls of St. Stephen. Tomorrow night they will graduate and we wish them well in high school and beyond. We are proud of all their accomplishments here and we know they will continue to make us proud as they continue on life's journey. Tomorrow is also the last day of school for our PK students and we wish them all a fun and happy summer.
I don't know where the year went, but we have one more week to go. There is much happening next week so be sure to read emails and all of Tidbits. The most important thing to remember right now is that everyone with students going into K-8 should apply for the Step Up scholarship if you have not done so already. The one piece of information we need when you get your award is your child's award ID number. Please be sure to share that with us.
This weekend Deacon Christian Galvan will be ordained Fr. Christian and he will celebrate his first Mass at St. Stephen on Sunday, May 21 at 11:30 am. Please join us as he celebrates his first Mass.

Step Up Scholarship
Information for Renewal and New Families
Due to the excitement surrounding the 2023-24 application season, Step Up is experiencing high call volumes and may experience high traffic to our systems. If you encounter any delays, please try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
Families who signed up for Step Up interest list and who have not yet been notified, please continue to monitor your email.
Step Up For Students has begun notifying families who joined our interest lists that it is time for them to apply. To prevent systems from becoming overloaded, notifications will continue to our interest list families through the rest of the week. The emails will include a link to our EMA page where they will find resources to help them along the way. For families who signed up for our interest list and who have not yet been notified, please continue to monitor your email.
New families can sign up to the appropriate page below to receive notifications from StepUp:

Reminders:
- Renewal families who have not completed their renewal application yet, please complete your Renewal Application. They may visit www.sufs.org/ema for next steps and helpful resources.
- Families experiencing trouble linking a renewal student or adding a new student visit www.sufs.org/get-support for support.
- At this time, Step Up For Students does not have a deadline for applications from renewal or new families. With the application season in full swing, we kindly ask for your patience as we process applications as quickly as possible.
- PLEASE NOTE: Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, Step Up For Students will no longer be issuing Award Letters. Instead, awarded families will begin receiving Award Notifications in the coming week. Award Notifications will direct families to log into their EMA account where they can find their student's Award ID. The Award ID is all you will need to enroll students within your EMA account when it is time. If a school requires further documentation from a family regarding their student's award, we are advising families to take a screenshot of the page within their EMA account that displays their student's Award ID.
- The award amount that is indicated in your account is actually the amount FROM LAST YEAR. That amount will be adjusted in June when DOE makes a new determination.
SSCS 2023 Talent Show Information
All students that auditioned for the 2023 SSCS Talent Show should attend the dress rehearsal on Tuesday, May 23rd in Mrs. Stanley’s classroom. Please bring your costume/outfit that you will wear and any props you might need. Rehearsal will end at 4:30 pm and pick up will be at the Angel’s Wing gate. Any students remaining after 4:35 pm will be taken to Extended Day.
All parents of students participating in the Talent Show are invited to attend. The Talent Show is on Thursday, May 25th in the FLC at 1:00 pm. If you decide to sign your child out after the Talent Show, you must allow your child to go back to class and then sign them out in the office.

Angels Again Thank Father Anthony
Our SSCS families and friends continue to express their appreciation for the amazing meal prepared by Father. The evening was not only about good food but also fun conversation! Angels 2023 was a success thanks to Father and all who supported the event. Watch for upcoming news about Angels Among Us 2024.

Summer is right around the corner, and Nature's Classroom is excited to announce that they are officially launching an NCI Summer Camp for ages 10-14.

Safe Environment Training and Fingerprints
Everyone needs updated safe environment training and fingerprints in order to volunteer in the school or to chaperone a field trip. Safe environment and fingerprints are good for 5 years.
