Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,
Last night at the Sports Dinner recognizing our 5th through 8th-grade student-athletes, I was happy to see all the St. Stephen alumni who came out to celebrate with their siblings. It's always great to see them and hear about their achievements in high school. Congratulations to two alumni in particular for awards recently received for their hard work and efforts at Jesuit High School. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Tampa Catholic High senior Maria Teresa Castillo Salom who will be attending the US Naval Academy in the fall. She was also accepted into West Point, the Citadel, Notre Dame, and UF. We are so proud of all our students who leave here and go on to do great things in high school.
As a reminder, animals are not permitted on the school and church property. I understand that you may have your dog with you in your car during drop-off and pick-up, but please do not walk your dog on the property. They must remain in the car.
This weekend is the last Holy Card weekend. Please remember to have your child wear their uniform to Mass, receive a holy card, and then they may have free dress on Monday. Students who bring and show me all nine Holy Cards received this year on Monday morning (and they must be the ones from this year) will receive a surprise. They must come to me by 9:00 am Monday, May 15 to receive it.
Finally, the students were very excited yesterday to meet Bishop Parkes as he toured our school. We were grateful that he took the time out of his schedule to talk with some of our students and see all the great things they are doing at school.
Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the week.
Peace,
Linda Umoh
